Alberta Colleges & Institutes Faculties Association (ACIFA) promotes the professional and economic well being of college and technical institute faculty in the interest of advancing the quality of post-secondary education in Alberta.
The Alberta College & Technical Institute Student Executive Council (ACTISEC) is a coalition of college and technical institute students' associations from across Alberta. ACTISEC represents 100,000 Alberta college and technical institute students at 14 institutions.
The Confederation of Alberta Faculty Associations (CAFA) is a professional organization of faculty and faculty associations in Alberta universities. The objectives of the Confederation are to promote the quality of education in the province and to promote the well-being of Alberta universities and their academic staff.
The Council of Alberta University Students (CAUS) represents the interests of students at the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary and the University of Lethbridge to the government, stakeholders and the public.
The Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA) is the legally recognized bargaining agent for over 4,000 non-academic staff working on the University of Alberta campus.

The Alberta Council on Aging is a province-wide charitable organization, comprised of individuals, organizations and agencies interested in issues and challenges related to Alberta's aging population.
The Alberta Retired Teachers' Association (ARTA) is a group organized to advocate for retired teachers on the issues that affect their well-being, including pensions and declining health care benefits. ARTA currently has over 9,000 members who are organized into 14 branches throughout Alberta.
The Senior’s Action and Liaison Team (SALT) is a group of activist seniors based in Edmonton who share a belief that the many social improvements they have seen over their lifetimes should continue rather than be eroded.
Continuing Care Watch is a citizen watch group that monitors conditions in long-term and continuing care facilities in Alberta.

Womanspace Resource Centre is a community-based women's organization that carries out research and initiate policy changes at both the local and provincial level in order to improve the status and further the political, social and economic equality of women.
Privatization
P3 Watch provides research and resources on issues of Public-Private Partnerships in Canada.

Political Economy Resource Centre has an incredible list of resources on the Living Wage, including pre- and post-implementation studies of Living Wage ordinances.
The Economic Policy Institute has background information and studies on the Living Wage and other labour issues.
Campaign 2000 is a cross-Canada public education movement to build Canadian awareness and support for the 1989 all-party House of Commons resolution to end child poverty in Canada by the year 2000. It began in 1991 out of concern about the lack of government progress in addressing child poverty.
2007 Report Card on Child and Family Poverty in Canada is a new report by Campaign 2000 outlining the current crisis and calling for a national poverty reduction strategy.
The Alberta College of Social Workers has information about its advocacy activities and resources on poverty.
The National Anti-Poverty Organization (NAPO) is a non-profit, non partisan organization that represents the interests of low-income people in Canada. One of their many campaigns is coordinating a national campaign to Make the Minimum Wage a Living Wage.

Environment
The Alberta Environmental Network (AEN) is a non-profit, non-partisan umbrella organization dedicated to helping preserve and protect Alberta's environment.
The Pembina Institute is an independent, not-for-profit environmental policy research and education organization. Its major policy research and education programs are in the areas of sustainable energy, climate change, environmental governance, ecological fiscal reform, sustainability indicators, and the environmental impacts of the energy industry.
