The Edmonton Social Planning Council, together with Public Interest Alberta and the Alberta College of Social Workers, has released a new report titled "Keep Investing in Alberta’s Children: The Government’s Role in Ending Child and Family Poverty."

This comprehensive report takes a look at the current state of child and family poverty in Alberta and offers recommendations for the provincial government to address this problem. This includes expanding the $25/day childcare pilot program to improve affordability, begin the process of creating and implementing a poverty reduction strategy, reduce school classroom sizes, and implement actions to address the significant shortage of annual tax revenue without cutting funding for crucial social services.
