Campaign to be Launched Throughout Alberta to Challenge Cuts to Post-Secondary Education
Invest in Post-Secondary Education to build Alberta’s Future –
Don’t Cut Us Out
Media conferences will be held in institutes, colleges and universities around Alberta to launch an advocacy campaign calling on the provincial government to invest in post-secondary education to build Alberta’s future.
Students, staff and faculty at Alberta’s public post-secondary educational institutions have come together and are calling upon Albertans to join the campaign to convince the government that investments in post-secondary education are vital in these difficult economic times. Cuts are already having an impact on many institutions and further cuts are going to significantly reduce the quality of education in Alberta.
Spokespeople in each city will discuss the potential impacts on the quality, affordability and accessibility of post-secondary education, unveil campaign graphics and explain plans to keep the pressure on the provincial government to stop the cuts set for this year and the prospects of even deeper cuts for next year.
The Red Deer media conference will take place in:
Red Deer College
