This week, Public Interest Alberta Board Chair Larry Booi penned a letter to Hon. Brian Mason, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, congratulating him on his decision not to launch any new public-private partnerships pending a decision by executive council on their continued use.
The first major example of the government following through on this decision came this week with the announcement from Minister of Health Sarah Hoffman to strike a Steering Committee and consult with stakeholders around privatization of lab services for Edmonton and northern Alberta.
