Alberta’s United Conservative government is contracting more surgeries to private facilities in a bid to reduce lengthy surgical backlogs.

Premier Jason Kenney announced Wednesday that Alberta plans to fund more private surgeries in the province’s central and south health zones. The facilities would serve Red Deer, Medicine Hat, Lethbridge and surrounding areas, and would offer high-demand procedures such as knee and hip replacements and hernia repair. Read more →
