Salaries for Edmonton city councillors and the mayor are going up more than two per cent in 2023, ending a two-year freeze.
The increase is automatic. City council made the rare move in October 2020 to freeze wages for two years because of economic challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, voting to revert to typical salary calculation methods by January 2023.
