Re: "Political action committees in Alberta," Oct. 29

I want to provide clarity on my organization’s third-party advertising. As a non-partisan organization, none of our work is done to support or oppose any political party. It is true we have supported a $15-per-hour minimum wage in Alberta, but we were advocating for that well before the NDP decided to make it a 2015 election issue.

Our spending on third-party advertising has been focused solely on advocating for Alberta to make fair changes to our tax system to raise significantly more revenue, which is required to protect and revitalize important public services like health care and education.

No party, including the NDP, has agreed with that message, but our aim is to inform Albertans about how important those issues are so no party can continue to ignore them.
