Stop the Sweeps

A group of community members gathered outside the Edmonton Law Courts while inside lawyers for the Coalition for Justice and Human Rights were trying to maintain an injunction against the largest sweep of encampments in Edmonton's history. On Dec. 14th, Edmonton Police announced a sweep of encampments scheduled to take place the week before Christmas. An emergency injunction was granted on the 15th to stop the sweeps that would have began the morning of the 18th. Watch Bradley Lafortune's speech →
