Edmonton JournalCity council will be asked to approve an additional $100,000 annually to help those seniors who are isolated and alone in Edmonton.The funding would cover two part-time positions with the Edmonton Seniors Co-ordinating Council. One position would help co-ordinate seniors' organizations to provide more community support programs throughout the city, and one would help the health and multicultural sectors find and assist at-risk or isolated seniors.The proposal passed the community services committee Monday and goes next week to city council.
